Students who are good citizens at Danville Elementary School are rewarded with programs each month. For May, a zebra came to visit the students from The Farm at Walnut Creek at 4147 County Road 114 at Sugarcreek. Owner Henry Hampton answered questions about the 6-month-old Grantís zebra whose home is the grasslands of eastern and southern Africa.
The Heritage Centre Association of Mount Vernon is brightening up the downtown flower beds along the sidewalks with fresh flowers. Rosemarie LaHane, carefully moves dirt around the roots of this plant. She and Ann Laudemann are master gardener volunteers who are working on the project with Troy Cooper, Ohio State Extension Service Agriculture.
